When Michael Kors decides to send his “Michael’s Must-Haves”, all that I know about ideal email development best-practices gets tossed like last year’s clothing. The top 20% of this message is spot on; the use of real text, great typography and clean CTA’s. The remainder of the email is visually beautiful; I love the cascading numbers & their play on negative space, I like how products are breaking their frames. What happens to the text if the images don’t load? Either Michael Kors knows beautiful product images sell more than the written word or he’s trying to re-pioneer the use of ‘images with text’ in the email. Will this be a trend that continues? That is something only Michael knows. 😉
