Subject: PRICE DROP: Kogan Height Adjustable Standing Desk Riser (Small)
Almost one month after receiving this browse abandonment email from Kogan, I then received this price drop email.
“PRICE DROP” in caps followed by the product I was browsing on their site (the Height Adjustable Standing Desk) included in the subject line works well to grab my attention and draw me into opening the email.
The email copy opens up with the headline: “Now available at a lower price (Limited Stock)”. Everyone loves getting a better deal and we’ve found offering a discount is a great way to generate more sales. The use of scarcity in the headline, “(Limited Stock)” does a great job of getting an interested prospect to act right away before they run out of stock, with the thought of having to pay full price next time.
The email also inserts an image of the item I was looking at on their site over a month ago into the email, and it shows the previous listed price and the new discounted price so you can see how much of a saving you’d get if you purchased the desk today.
Below the main product image, they use their recommendation engine to display other items people were looking at, which is another way to get people back onto your site and into ‘shopping mode’ again.
